I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and holistic health coach with experience providing acute inpatient & outpatient care across the lifespan and long term inpatient care to adolescents. I have experience as an Auburn University clinical associate providing inpatient psychiatric nursing education to BSN students, an orientation coach to new inpatient nursing employees, a preceptor to university nursing students, and as unit charge nurse. I served as an appointed member of East Alabama Medical Center's Psychiatric Unit Council. I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Auburn University and a Master's of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in the family psychiatric nurse practitioner specialty, nursing education sub-specialty bestowed with honors.
I have a passion for applying ancient traditional therapies, psychedelic medicines, and holistic healing modalities to Western psychiatry. I completed the Fundamental & Advanced Modern Shamanism courses through Blue Morpho Ayahuasca Center located in Iquitos, Peru and plant medicine coursework at the Ayahuasca Foundation's Riosbo Research Center in the Allpahuayo-Mishana National Reserve, Peru. I was a member of the world's first women's psilocybin retreat and research study at MycoMeditations in Treasure Beach, Jamaica. I have outpatient clinical & community ceremonial medical Cannabis practice experience, ceremonial Kambô experience with Kambô International, and ceremonial Huachuma experience with traditional indigenous healers in the Andes Mountains near Cusco, Peru.
I am called the "Mushroom Queen" and help my partner Allen manage Fungi Farm, the Southeast's premier mushroom company. I am the founder and current president of the International Association of Psychedelic Nursing (IAPN), a non-profit organization uniting health care professionals, students, and indigenous healers in the promotion of education, research, networking, and formulation of evidence based nursing practice standards within an emerging field of study. I founded Hope Network, holistic wellness company staffed with experienced, professionally trained personnel.
I won the Emerging Voices Award, Women of the Psychedelic Renaissance Grant, and actively work to support Cosmic Sister, eco-feminist non-profit organization. I am an active committee member within the American Cannabis Nurses Association, member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA), American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Cannabis Nurses Network (CNN), and International Association of Kambô Practitioners. I am a level II Reiki practitioner. I have won 26 awards in submission grappling and am a 3x U.S. national silver medalist and 2021 Georgia State Champion. I teach martial arts classes at Auburn Mixed Martial Arts, and have experience leading yoga classes for hospitalized psychiatric patients ages 4-94. In my free time, I pursue language learning (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Shipibo), herpetology husbandry, Reiki, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, muay Thai, and yin/kundalini yoga.
Allen and I live in Auburn, AL with our rescue psychiatric service dog Dolly, Brazilian rainbow boa Prisma, Columbian boa Seraph, and two toads Addis & Big Boi.
